GeschichtePLUS takes a look at the requirements for teachers based on the LehrplanPLUS and altered subject combinations for all school types. The courses in the framework of this coordination programme are practice-oriented and link the perspectives of subject didactics, specialist sciences and education sciences across all subject borders. Interdisciplinary teaching concepts for history, arts and social and earth sciences will be developed since up until now such offers do not exist in sufficient numbers in any of the three training stages.

The key component of GeschichtePLUS is interdisciplinary lecturer tandems. Course offers are aimed at students from all subject areas. Based on a standardised guideline lesson segments are developed in collaboration with the tandem lecturers and passed on to schools. Subsequently the lesson segments are being evaluated. In cooperation with LMU Teacher Education Centre a selection of successful units will be made accessible to students and teachers via an online platform.

Innovative media formats e.g. digital media in interdisciplinary lesson concepts (Augmented Reality / video & image editing) will also be tested. In addition GeschichtePLUS organises workshops and talks about current topics. These events e.g. address the topic of lessons for refugees in the subject combination history/German or art/German.

These practice-oriented courses in the framework of GeschichtePLUS offer students direct access to the teaching profession. Lecturers of the participating subject areas benefit from the feedback of the school environment and in-service teachers benefit from the didactical and subject-specialised expertise of university research.
