reflect@inf.lmu

  • reflect@inf.lmu tries out new teaching concepts and methods, developed at LMU, in cooperation with schools.
  • This new exercise strengthens the professional relevance of didactical science.
  • The new methods and contents that were tested are then published.

The lectures in subject didactics are supplemented with an exercise in order to create a relevant connection to teaching practice. To assess performance, students create a portfolio which is closer to the actual working methods and contents of the teaching profession than the exam that had been taken up until now.

The teaching concepts developed so far will be further extended and tested under the supervision of academic staff. This will be done in close cooperation with all stakeholders from all three stages of teacher training.

Continuing contact is established with a number of partner schools, in order to implement and evaluate teaching segments, new (e.g. agile) methods and new contents in school. In so doing, the schools examine the practical applicability of the concepts developed at LMU. Subject didactics staff, seminar leaders, teachers and students carry out practice lessons and receive feedback.

The network of cooperating partner schools remains open, giving more schools an opportunity to apply. A kick-off event at LMU is planned for the beginning of the school year 2017/18.

New teaching concepts and methods that have proven their applicability will be presented in training events for in-service teachers and at conferences and possibly published in professional literature. If the project is extended the cooperation with the partner schools will be repeated.
