1 und 1 wird 3. (Development of a structural concept for the three training stages in the subject Protestant Religious Studies)

  • The project brings together training stages and locations of pre-service and in-service teachers at two types of German secondary schools (Realschule and Gymnasium).
  • Subject specific content and didactical approaches are linked together.
  • A forum as well as a web presence provide a sustainable offer.

The project "1 und 1 wird 3" (1 and 1 makes 3) supplements the university and school stages with a further training phase. A network between university, traineeship and school is built in order to closely connect students, trainers and lecturers. The primary focus of attention is placed on a constructive connection between the school syllabus and university lecture contents, including subject specific content and didactical approaches for Protestant Religious Studies. A forum held in regular intervals throughout the school year will institutionalise the interdisciplinary and ecumenical cooperation.

The basis of the project is built on the perception and bringing together of the various teaching locations, in order to start a dialogue between university, teacher training seminar, school and RPZ (religionspädagogisches Zentrum - Centre for religious pedagogics).

Moving forward projects, events, talks and excursions will be organised in order to intensify cooperation. At all training stages the didactical and methodological competences are reciprocally strengthened through common projects at different teaching locations. Students, novice and expert teachers are guided and counselled to consolidate and develop their competences. A web presence enables getting in contact quickly and offers the special service for all training stages to connect subject-specific contents with the syllabus and supplement them with literature suggestions. The project is being evaluated and further developed on an ongoing basis.
