  • PSYCH.e offers e-learning modules for all three stages of teacher training providing information about mental stress and disorders in school children.
  • Example cases (case vignettes) give the opportunity to apply this knowledge.
  • The learning process will be evaluated online on an ongoing basis and students are provided with feedback.

The "PSYCH.e" project provides lecturers, teachers and students with specific know-how regarding mental stress and disorders in school children: it gives information about causes, development, symptoms, diagnosis, prevention, school support measures, handling of critical situations and inclusive teaching, support systems and counselling in the immediate environment. This knowledge can be applied in example cases in order to build up the necessary diagnostic competence and to consolidate pedagogical reflection. The selection of the presented disorders - e.g. dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD - is based on their frequency of occurrence and relevance for school (not only for inclusive contexts).

Built on a knowledge catalogue with the relevant content case vignettes regarding the individual disorders will be created. They each consist of a teaching situation serving to identify the shown symptoms, a hypothesis of the teacher, a conversation with the parents as well as an interpretation of the situation in school, a discussion with colleagues and an evaluation of the situation. Possible actions and opportunities for comfortable teaching situations are shown as examples. The application of the acquired knowledge is tested in example cases with decision algorithms and a qualitative and quantitative evaluation of decisions and recommendations. The e-Learning-modules dealing with the selected mental stresses and disorders will be provided for free on an online learning platform.
